Frequently Asked Questions
Following a consultation: We will provide one private prescription within the cost of any consultation you book with us. Please note you will need to pay the pharmacy for the cost of the item and their dispensing fee.
Without a consultation: Requests for prescriptions without a consultation are available only for those who have consulted with us before, for a health condition we have previously consulted with you about. Your request will be assessed for suitability and we will either agree to prescribe, or recommend a further consultation.
If we agree to prescribe this will incur a prescribing fee starting from £25 per prescription. Our standard charge is for 2 working day turnaround and is for collection of a printed and signed prescription from the health centre.
Surcharges are applicable for :
- ePrescriptions (+£5)
- Prescription hand delivered to Stokenchurch pharmacy (+£5)
- Same day urgent renewals on a working day (+£25)
- Next day urgent renewals (+£15)
- Weekend and Bank Holiday same day renewals(+£50)
With private prescriptions, you will need to pay the pharmacy for the cost of the item and the pharmacy dispensing fee. This is on top of our prescription charge.
Renewing your prescription is a multi-step process. All prescriptions are personally reviewed by your doctor to ensure it is safe and appropriate to renew. A printed and doctor signed prescription is then created for you at the health centre.
Providing us a 2 working day turnaround as standard ensures we can safely review your request and meet your expectations.
The urgent renewal surcharge ensures we can make special arrangements for a safe clinical review of your request at short notice. This is not always easy for us (e.g. our doctors often work elsewhere), but we will make it happen if you require it!
